EMA Scholarship Foundation

The 2011 EMA Scholarship recipients may be found here. The 2012 application will be available on January 2, 2012. Applications may be found here.

Employees of EMA member companies and their children or spouses currently enrolled as college undergraduates, graduate students or in their senior year of high school, can be candidates for EMA Scholarship Awards.

The Scholarship Program is one of the most enduring benefits offered to EMA regular and associate members. The EMA Scholarship Foundation affords member companies the opportunity to provide the potential of educational assistance for employees, children and spouses. To be eligible, students must be high school seniors or current, full-time college undergraduate students during the academic year in which they apply, and they must be employees or principals of EMA member companies in good standing, or their child or spouse. Scholarships are awarded based on academic achievement, financial need and academic potential.

Since the EMA Scholarship Foundation was established in 1987, EMA has helped over 232 students achieve higher education through scholarship grants totaling more than one million dollars. The grants provide selected students with up to $1,500 per year for up to four years. Scholarship funds are sent directly to the school for the recipient's use, and may be applied to tuition, dormitory or lab fees, books or other related expenses at the discretion of the recipient and with school approval.

Employee applicants must have completed at least six months of full or part-time employment with a EMA member company by March 1, 2012. Similarly, in order for the child or spouse of an employee to be eligible, the employee must have completed at least six months of full time employment with an EMA member company by March 1, 2012. In 2011, the odds of being selected for a scholarship were 1 in 20! The application period for 2012 awards will open on January 2, 2012.  Applications must be returned to EMA by March 1, 2012 to be eligible for consideration.
