The Entertainment Merchants Association is a Not-for-Profit Trade Association. If you are a new member seeking to join EMA, you may do so by completing an online application. Online membership is subject to review, adjustment and acceptance by EMA.
Regular Membership is open to any company engaged in whole or in part in the business of selling, leasing, renting, or offering licensed reproductions of home entertainment software such as motion pictures, video games and sound recordings at wholesale or retail, or engaged in the franchising of home entertainment software retail outlets.
Associate membership is open to libraries, trade associations, educational, religious, governmental, and not-for-profit institutions and to manufacturers and suppliers of products and services to the home entertainment industry. Click here for an application for "Associate" membership.
Other membership types include Not-for-Profit membership and (if you live outside of the United States or Canada) International membership.
iDEA - Independent Video Retailers - Any private company/retailer who derives their primary source of revenue from the home video business (rental or sell-thru or both), and is a 'Brick and Mortar' retailer with 1-100 storefronts qualifies for iDEA membership. . By joining online, you agree that neither your company nor any of its Officers, Directors, Owners, or Partners, will become involved in video piracy activities. Video piracy activities are grounds for suspension from the Association.
