This year's programming (and schedule) is tentative and is still being developed.  Listed speakers are confirmed.

10 AM Welcome/Opening/EMA Digital Council Update

EMA’s Digital Council, including content providers, digital retailers and technology and service providers, was formed two years ago to support the needs of digital video retailing.  It’s projects include publishing a glossary of industry terminology and standardizing industry metadata communication.  Council co-chairs will update attendees on the current state of these projects and future objectives.

  • Bo Andersen, President & CEO, Entertainment Merchants Association
  • Mark Fisher, Executive Vice-President, Entertainment Merchants Association
  • Mitch Mallon, Vice President/Sales & Marketing/Digital Distribution & Television, Image Entertainment

10:15 Today's Landscape - Bruce Eisen, Vice-President/Online Content Development and Strategy, Dish Network

10:35 Supporting the Supply Chain

Supply chain management isn’t just for physical goods.  It’s even more crucial to efficiently and effectively support the flow of digital content from production through retailers and ultimately to consumers.  This first group of guests will discuss opportunities to improve these processes (including authoring and encoding, asset management and database management) and how they can impact both top sales growth and profitability.

  • Morgan Fiumi, Senior Vice-President & COO, Deluxe Digital Studios
  • Eric Hanson, Group Content Publishing Mgr, Zune Video Marketplace, Microsoft
  • Mark Vrieling, CEO, Screenplay

11:15 Getting the Content to the Screen

It’s common expectation that the easier it is for the consumer to view digital content - either on a big screen or on a portable device - the quicker digital delivery will expand its consumer base.  This group of guests will help layout today’s landscape for moving content from the Internet to the screen, and discuss how are some of the leading and cutting edge options doing?
  • Jim Funk, VP, Business Development, Roku
  • Dan Kelley, Senior Director/Marketing, D-Link Systems
  • Ryan Pirozzi, Director/Movies, Best Buy
  • Evan Young, Director of Broadband Services, TiVo

11:45 Learnings from the Research Community

  • Russ Crupnick, The NPD Group
  • Chris Roberts, Rentrak Corporation
  • Brett Sappington, Parks Associates

12:45 Lunch

2 PM Brand and Title Marketing in the Digital Environment

How do digital retailers market their brand?  How do they differentiate themselves from their competitors?  How do content providers market their titles for digital sales and rentals?  And, how important are “search and discover”?
  • Sean Besser, Vice-President/Business Development, Rovi
  • Gary Delfiner, Senior Vice-President/Digital Distribution, Screen Media Ventures
  • Mark Ely, Executive Vice President, Sonic Solutions
  • Ute Rother, Founder & CEO, Q-Sensei

3 :10 Ever Changing Business Models and Opportunities

Business models continue to evolve and options for content delivery continue to grow.  Does the consumer prefer pay-per-view (or rental), or do they prefer owning digital content?  Are they willing to accept free ad-supported viewing, or are they willing to pay for an uninterrupted experience?  Will monthly “all you can eat” subscriptions be the preferred medium?  How do release windows impact the choices?  And, how much do embedded players in devices drive consumer choice, and how much content will be proprietary to individual devices?  This group of guests will discuss these important issues and more.
  • Ted Cohen, Managing Partner, TAG Strategic
  • Kelly DiGregorio, YouTube
  • Bruce Eisen, DISH Network
  • Jeff Shultz, Clicker
  • Larry Smith, MOD Systems

3:55 Navigating the Future

Where will the digital video business be in 2015?  How will broadband adoption and bandwidth grow and how will new chipsets pave the road?  How important will 3D be for digitally delivered content?  Where would the content providers like to take the industry in the long term?  And, how will consumers habits and expectations evolve?  This final group of guests will discuss the future - both in the short term and in the long term.
  • Ted Cohen, Managing Partner, TAG Strategic
  • Phil Lelyveld, Program Manager, 3D Lab, Entertainment Technology Council
  • Jason Stoddard, Founder & CEO, Centric/Agency of Change
