Variety’s 31st annual Hall of Fame dinner and awards program featured two EMA members induced into their Home Entertainment Hall of Fame last night: Hastings President & CEO John Marmaduke and Brian Dunn, CEO of Best Buy.

These honors recognize excellence in the home entertainment industry while aiding those in need. This year’s event benefited charities chosen by the individual inductees.

EMA’s President & CEO, Bo Andersen said:
We are very proud that Variety recognized their outstanding contributions to the industry as well as their charitable involvement and support.

Under John’s Marmaduke’s leadership, Hastings Entertainment has grown and adapted to the changing industry over the years with remarkable insight making Hastings one of the most successful entertainment retail chains in the country.

John has been an integral part of the association and its board for twenty years. I have had the pleasure of working with John directly for over fifteen years and the guidance he has provided our organization has been exceptional.

Best Buy has been a member of the association for fourteen years. Brian Dunn’s leadership has secured their place as one of the leading retailers of home entertainment products.

Proceeds from the Hall of Fame event go to charities selected by the inductees.

John Marmaduke’s selected charity is The Hunger Project (THP) is a global, non-profit, strategic organization committed to the sustainable end of world hunger. In Africa, South Asia and Latin America, THP seeks to end hunger and poverty by empowering people to lead lives of self-reliance, meet their own basic needs and build better futures for their children.

The proceeds designated for Best Buy will go to The Best Buy Children's Foundation which strengthens communities through national and local grant making programs. The foundation’s goal is to empower teens to thrive by helping them excel in school, engage in their communities, and develop life and leadership skills.

EMA also congratulates this year’s other inductees:
Gary Shapiro, CEO & President of the Consumer Electronics Association, Nintendo of America and the Harry Potter Film Franchise.
