Government Relations

Everyone assumes that when the rights of video and video game retailers and their customers are threatened "someone" will stand up and protect them. That "someone" is EMA.

Consistent with its mission to protect all those engaged in the rental and sale of packaged home entertainment and its strategic objective to "maintain a high profile in North American government affairs relating to the home entertainment industry, taking public positions and providing leadership and advocacy on key issues affecting its membership," EMA interacts with governments at the national, state, and local levels on a regular basis. EMA constantly monitors legislation in Congress and all 50 states and takes action whenever and wherever necessary to further legislative initiatives that can assist the home entertainment industry and to defend the industry and its customers against unreasonable and inappropriate government regulation.
